Wesswood College, founded in 2007 as a mixed school with just 50 students and 7 teachers, began in a modest building along Kurunegala Road, Katugastota. Under the leadership of its first principal, Mr. Liyanarachchi, the school steadily grew in size and reputation. By 2018, Wesswood expanded to separate locations for boys and girls, though it now operates under one roof in its own dedicated building.
